Guernsey Hill Climb - July 2007

So it was the Hill Climb today and I thought I'd try my hand at a little motorsports photography. For the most part I'm pretty pleased with how it went. After getting the settings sorted, it was just learning the timings needed to get a shot.

Being a bike nut, it was nice to pretend to be shooting Valentino at Assen, but you take what you can get and its not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning!

Guernsey FA Cup Final

Not long got back from the Guernsey FA Cup Final, which was won by Sylvans 2-0.

Jeffs brother Matt is the captain of Sylvans, so you can guess who I was supporting. I was a pretty good match, and I think it was a fair result in the end.

The match gave me my first opportunity to try my new lens. How did it go? Well, I could have picked better conditions to shoot my first football match then a floodlight evening match. I got a couple of shots that I liked, but most of them had some focus issues as they just weren't sharp enough. Still it all gets added to the learning experience and I'll be better next time.

I've put up my efforts here
