It's been a hell of a long time since I picked up my D300s and used it for anything other then a paperweight. There has been a myriad of reasons that I've stopped taking photos. But at the very last second I grabbed it on impulse as I was heading out to the Guernsey match.

I'm very rusty and having been using a 35mm lens exclusively for the last few months on a completely different form factor; it took a while for the muscles in my hands to remember what they should be doing.

But the camera reminded me just how responsive it is. Focus snapping in an instant, locking and tracking. 8 frames per second burst rate, comes as a shock to the system when you've been shooting at slow speeds and long exposures.

Maybe it isn't quite time to give up on photography as something other than a way to supplement my memory when I travel.

I don't know any more. I just don't know. But I do know that if pushed, I'd still describe my skill as poor, and at this time lack the confidence to say that I can change that.
